Folk Song for Children

There's an old log in the middle of the pond,
It's my little home, and I get it for free,
I eat all the things that fly by my head,
And I make my bed on a lily pad leaf.
(Aristophanes' frogs singing)
And he makes his bed on a lily pad leaf!
He eats all the things that fly by his head,
And he makes his bed on a lily pad leaf!

I sing out loud, and all the night long,
I sing out loud, about li-ber-ty,
I sing out loud, and all the night long,
Of those things that a frog ought to be.
Of peace, justice and li-ber-ty,
li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty,
li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty,

That old log in the middle of the pond,
Seems it was an old alligator asleep,
Now froggy's gone where the good frogs have gone,
And I can't say where because the meaning is too deep.

(Aristophanes' frogs singing)
He sang out loud, and all the night long,
He sang out loud, about li-ber-ty,
He sang out loud, and all the night long,
Of those things that a frog ought to be.
Of peace, justice and li-ber-ty,
li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty,
li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty, li-ber-ty...
